An action filled story about a man-cub named Mowgli who has been raised by a family of wolves. One day Mowgli unexpectedly finds that he is no longer welcome in the jungle as the notorious tiger Shere Khan with a history of human hatred promises to eliminate the threat of the boy.
When critics and audiences both cant find a bad thing to
say about a movie you know it's one to watch! The Jungle Book has been a huge success, scoring 8.3/10 average rating from audiences and an high rating of 7.7/10 from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. I might have thought this story was too old to appeal to modern audiences as the original came out years ago but it seems I was wrong. Critic Don Kaye agrees with in his review on Rotten
Tomatoes quoting "...a new generation will absorb it from cover to cover". Many critics focus on the stunning
visual effects as the reason for the movie's success. Audience reactions are similar. The film comes in at 7.9/10 on Metacritic based on 49 critics reviews. Reviews make common use of terms like "visual splendour" and "visually breathtaking". Many user reviews found it excellent although one or two criticised it as flat and dull and boring apart from the visual effects. I have to say this story is a bit of a child hood favorite of mine so I went to see it hoping it wouldn't spoil my memories. The director has made excellent use of CGI to bring the story to life in a way that grips your attention through all 1 hour and 51 minutes of the movie's run time. What a great film, I would recommend it to all!
