After the Britinish Prime Minister suddenly drops dead in mysterious circumstances, a funeral is held where all leaders of the western world must attend. Although the event is the most protected in the world terrorists plot to kill the worlds most powerful leaders, unleashing global chaos.
A sequel to the wildly successful "Olympus Has Fallen", "London has fallen" was a massive disappointment. I'm with the critics on this one. They really screwed it up!. The core of the story is a plot to kill all the world's most powerful leaders and unleash catastrophe on the world. Critics at Rotten Tomatoes describe it as "A highlight reel of gunfire and explosions masquerading as a political thriller ..." which is pretty evident from the trailer... They also complain about "... the spectacularly ludicrous script to the sloppy visuals". Many audience reviewers found it "formulaic" and "cliched". Perhaps people are getting fed up with unrealistic gunfights, explosions, and car crashes? I certainly felt I had seen it all before. Metacritic gives a metascore of 28. Striking a more serious note, one reviewer saw it as "An impossibly enjoyable live-action cartoon that plays on our real-life anxieties about vengeful cadres of foreign radicals blowing up people - and places." If you're the kind of person who worries about what the world is coming to then you may like this movie as it will confirm all your worst fears. For the rest of you, I suggest you don't waste your money.
